A new project, Early Peoples Cultural Revelation with Masks, announced by the Friends of the Chattanooga Public Library to serve 300 children.
Friends of the Chattanooga Public Library is proud to announce a new project for the Chattanooga Public Library Teen/Tween programs at all of its branches and two elementary schools who expressed interest in participating in this special project. Early Peoples Cultural Revelation with Masks project will serve 300 children who have researched various early peoples around the world, Native Americans, and various African peoples and will paint cultural masks with local artist, Larry Bullington of The Masters Studio. This project has been made possible with a grant received from the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga.
Teen/tweens at Northgate Library branch will work with local artist, Larry Bullington on Saturday, January 24, 2015 between 2-4:00PM painting various Native American masks. On March 31st and April 1st the Teen/tweens at the Downtown, Eastgate, and South Chattanooga branches will paint Native American masks with Larry Bullington.
Third grade students at Orchard Knob Elementary will work with local artist, Larry Bullington February 5th and 12th to paint African Masks.
Christine Hockert, Secretary of the Friends of the Chattanooga Public Library is coordinating the Early Peoples Cultural Revelation with Masks project.
McConnell Elementary fifth graders created Cultural Revelation Masks on
January 13-14th.
